Favorite Beer Memory:
My boyfriend, a craft brewer and beer sales rep with whom I’m very much in love, realizing during one of our first phone conversations that before he met me he’d watched an episode of the beer Internet show I co-host. While watching it, he’d developed a crush on my video persona and lamented the fact that we hadn’t met, even though he’d been working at the same festival where I’d shot the segment. A few days after he matched the “me” on the phone with the “me” in the video, we discovered that we had in fact met at that festival although neither of us remembers. How do we know this? We found each other’s business cards in our Rolodexes. Craft beer brought us together and the universe works in magical ways.
Proudest Beer Moment:
Pitching a series of stories about Pennsylvania state legislative hearings on craft beer to an editor I’d never worked with. Covering the story required travel, an ability to report on government processes, knowledge of the local craft beer industry and its players, plus an overnight stay out of town. The editor said she’d already assigned the story but I sounded like I knew the subject much better than the original reporter. She hired me to handle the stories and continues to have me write much of her craft beer coverage.
Hobbies and Other Quirks: Oy vey, where do I even start?
